The Role:
City Plumbing, a cornerstone of the UK’s plumbing and heating solutions sector, is seeking a driven and meticulous Financial Accounts Analyst to join our Plumbing and Heating Reporting and Control team on a 15 month FTC. This Financial Accounts role offers the opportunity to contribute significantly to the integrity and efficiency of our financial operations, providing essential support to our reporting, control, process, and stock functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the Group Financial Reporting Accountant with the preparation of the monthly consolidation and the internal and external financial reporting for the Plumbing & Heating businesses.
- Preparation of month end journals, control sheets and checking the completeness of ledger/consolidation.
- Review balance sheet reconciliations and improve the quality of the control accounts, including documentation of key financial and business controls and reviews of the processes in place.
- Provide support to the Group Financial Reporting Accountant by preparing audit deliverables for the external audit team during the year.
- Provide support to Stock Accountant with monthly checklists, as and when required.
- Preparation of non-financial industry external reporting in line with applicable regulations.
- Managing the deliverables for lenders audit conducted twice a year and being the key contact during the audit.
This is a hybrid-based opportunity with true flexibility to work from home, but you should be within commutable distance of our newly refurbished offices in Crick, Northamptonshire

Skills and competencies
Part Qualified or with a view to completing (think ACCA/CIMA/ACA). We provide study support and incentives!
- Experience from having worked within a financial team.
- Capable of independent working seeking support at appropriate times.
- Capable of working under pressure.
- Confident and clear communicator who is able to explain the process undertaken to complete their work
- Clear knowledge of accounting systems and excel.
- High levels of attention to detail.
- A drive to understand the wider impact of the work being completed.
