The Role:

As a Credit Risk Administrator at City Plumbing, you will provide essential administrative and organisational support to the Credit Risk team, assisting in the smooth operation of credit risk assessment and management processes. Your role will involve managing a variety of tasks, requiring strong attention to detail, excellent communication, time management, and problem-solving skills. This role is crucial in supporting the company's financial stability by minimising credit risk exposure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Credit Risk team and branch network, providing administrative support to help complete credit risk assessments and related tasks.
  • Manage the Credit Risk Manager's calendar, scheduling meetings, appointments, and any necessary travel arrangements.
  • Prepare professional correspondence, including letters, emails, and reports related to credit applications, credit limits, and debt recovery.
  • Coordinate meetings, prepare agendas, take minutes, and ensure follow-up actions are completed regarding credit reviews and risk assessments.
  • Chase up overdue payments and support the team in managing customer accounts to maintain healthy cash flow. Support in organising and maintaining accurate records of credit applications and decisions.
  • Handle emails and correspondence, filtering information and responding appropriately to internal and external queries.
  • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality regarding customer financial information and company credit policies.
  • Take notes at meetings on an intermittent basis, documenting key discussions and decisions related to credit risk.

Skills and competencies

  • A minimum of GCSE English and Maths
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with colleagues and customers at all levels.
  • Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple credit-related processes simultaneously.
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and take initiative in identifying and addressing potential credit risks.
  • Excellent judgement and discretion when dealing with sensitive financial information.
