Are you passionate about driving positive social change and making a tangible impact in local communities? City Plumbing is seeking a strategic and results-driven Social Value Manager to lead our social value initiatives across our Integrated Solutions and public sector contracts.
The Role:
You’ll ensure we don’t just meet our contractual obligations, but exceed them—creating a competitive advantage through high-impact social initiatives. Whether you’re partnering with the bid team to win new business or working on the ground to execute community projects, you’ll be an expert at building relationships and proving that City Plumbing is a business that truly cares.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Delivery: Lead the 100% compliant and timely delivery of all social value outcomes across Integrated Solutions and public sector contracts.
- Bid Support: Work closely with the Bid Team to design and integrate innovative, feasible social value solutions into tender responses.
- Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary link between customers, internal departments, and community partners to coordinate social value activities.
- Measurement & Reporting: Maintain robust systems to track and report on non-financial metrics, ensuring we are fully prepared for audits under the Procurement Act 2023.
- Internal Champion: Act as the subject matter expert, providing training to Sales and Account Management teams on the evolving social value landscape.
- Brand Advocacy: Collaborate with marketing to share our social value success stories, enhancing our reputation as a socially responsible partner.
You:
You’ll live and breathe our customer-first ethos, with a creative and results-driven approach. You’ll enjoy working collaboratively with the wider team and you’ll thrive on delivering excellent bids and securing new contracts!
Skills and competencies
- Sector Expertise: Proven experience in a Social Value or CSR role, specifically working with Housing Associations or Local Authorities.
- Bid Writing: Strong experience in drafting compelling social value proposals for public sector tenders.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of the Procurement Act 2023 and social value measurement frameworks.
- Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines across different geographic locations.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written skills, with the ability to interpret and present complex data to diverse audiences.
- A full clean UK driving license and a willingness to travel frequently.
